Reuters is looking for an enthusiastic aspiring journalist to work as news assistant in the Shanghai newsroom. This person will be responsible for some of the key roles in the bureau, including monitoring news, assistingĀ correspondents with research as well as helping with polls for major Chinese economic indicators. He/she will also be responsible for administrative duties in the newsroom, which include managing rosters for early and weekend shifts, paying bills, arranging accommodation for guests, and preparing paperwork for non-news related businesses. This is a great entry-level journalism job that could lead to full-time reporting roles in the future.
Requirements:
Ability to accurately and punctually carry out assigned tasks
Strong organizational skills
Great team player
Basic understanding of Word, Excel
Native Chinese speaker, strong English skills
Experience in financial journalism/basis understanding of finance a plus
