The Economist (经济学人) is looking for a full-time news assistant in its Shanghai bureau.
The successful candidate will work with the China Business Correspondent to cover company-related news, ranging from industrial sectors to the workforce and much in-between. The job involves monitoring the news, generating original ideas and spotting intriguing patterns in data, translating written materials and interpreting interviews. The ideal candidate will be curious, able to work independently and have a solid understanding of business.
Fluency in Chinese and in English are required. Media experience is not a must. The position is Shanghai-based, but will at times involve travel to support the correspondent in her reporting.
