The “Bunding” Installation Press Event and Q&A

M on the Bund is pleased to invite Shanghai FCC members and friends for a press tour of cinematographer Christopher Doyle’s Glamour Bar installation. Conceived when the Glamour Bar building’s exterior was wrapped for renovation, the installation features Doyle’s “rewrapping” of the iconic Bund view from the inside, using film and photography. Chris Doyle and producer Ken Hui will speak about the inspiration behind the work. Q&A will follow.

About the speaker:
Christopher Doyle (杜可风) is an award-winning cinematographer who has worked with major Chinese directors including Zhang Yimou, Chen Kaige, Zhang Yuan and most notably Wong Kar-wai (Doyle’s cinematography appears in all of Wong’s films). Doyle’s work includes Temptress Moon (Chen Kaige), In the Mood for Love (Wong Kar-wai), Quiet American and the remake of Psycho. Winner of the AFI Award for cinematography, the Cannes Technical Grand Prize, the Golden Horse and multiple Hong Kong Film Awards, Doyle was born in Australia and first came to Asia in the 1970s. He speaks fluent Cantonese and Mandarin, and now lives in Hong Kong.
