‘From Gesture to Language’

Featuring Specially Commissioned Pieces and Works from the Louvre

The Rockbund Art Museum of Shanghai is inviting a limited number of Shanghai FCC members to a private viewing and discussion of its new exhibition, “From Gesture to Language.” The exhibit features works from the contemporary collection of the Chalcography Department at the Louvre as well as commissioned works. Some of the artists will be available to discuss their work as well as the larger issues surrounding broader topics such as China’s art scene and the country’s museum building boom.

Featured artists include Yang Jie-Cang, Zhao Xuebing, Martín Salazar and YAN Pei-Min.

Curators are Pascal Torres Guardiola (Curator of the Edmond de Rothschild Collection and of the Chalcography Department at Louvre Museum, Paris) and Larys Frogier (Director of Rockbund Art Museum, Shanghai).
