China Economic Review seeks staff writer
China Economic Review is seeking an experienced journalist to join its English-language editorial team as a staff writer in Shanghai. Candidates must be independent thinkers who can look at the Chinese economy and policy critically and posses the ability to form nuanced analytical views about a wide range of subjects. CER occupies a unique space in China as an independent publication, which allows our staff to write freely across a broad range of topics. For example, you must equally be equipped to take a view on the latest GDP figures, industry-specific trends or the movements in individual stocks.
Candidates should have the following qualifications:
– One or more years experience in journalism, preferably covering business or related topics on-the-ground in China. Alternative experience in an analytical position with writing and editing duties will also be considered.
-Native English speaker with excellent Chinese speaking and writing abilities.
-Chinese nationals with excellent English writing skills will also be considered.
-Candidates must already be based in China.
Please note that the position is primarily a writing one, but organization and editing tasks are also a substantial part of the job.
