Chronicling the rise of Jack Ma and Alibaba
China premiere and screening of “Crocodile in the Yangtze” followed by Q&A with the director
Tuesday, May 14th
In advance of Alibaba’s expected IPO, the documentary film Crocodile in the Yangtze presents an insider’s account of how Jack Ma took on eBay and built China’s first global internet company. The independent film hit the U.S. festival circuit in 2012 and has never before been screened in China. It relies on 200 hours of archival footage and was written, produced and directed by Porter Erisman, who worked for Alibaba for eight years. Inc.
