What is the real picture for women in China today? The country has one of the largest female workforces in the world, high levels of female education, and over half of the world’s self-made female billionaires. It also has a domestic violence rate that estimates place as high as 40%, a massive male-female ratio imbalance and an increasing gender pay gap.

As China introduces its first domestic violence law, the FCC is honoured to invite Julie Broussard, the head of UN Women China to analyse women’s place in the world’s largest country, and future challenges in achieving gender equality in China.
