About the Speaker:
Mats Harborn was the first Scania representative in China and set up its representative office in 1985. In 1992, he left Scania to work for Svenska Handelsbanken and later the Swedish Embassy and Swedish Trade Council in China. In 2003, Mr Harborn rejoined Scania and took up the position as Chief Representative for Scania in China. In 2007, Scania was the second foreign automotive manufacturer to be granted status as a wholly owned brand importer of automotives into China. Mr Harborn was the first General Manager of Scania Sales (China). In 2010, he took up the position as Executive Director of the Scania China Strategic Centre, which works with long term business development in China. In 2013, he was also part of the team that set up the first wholly owned foreign truck dealership in China – the Scania Guangzhou Dealer. Between 2005-2013 Mats Harborn was Chairman of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce in China, and after having been active in the European Chamber of Commerce as Chairman of the Commercial Vehicles working Group, he was elected Vice President of the EUCCC in 2013.
