FAQs on logging in, registering and attending events

FAQs about registering to attend events:

Q: Can I register for events without logging in or creating a user account?

No, you have to create an account. You don’t need to be a member to establish an account, it’s just the only way the events┬ásystem can register you for any event.

Q: Why can’t I just send your secretary person an RSVP and have the board deal with it?

The automated RSVP system is mostly designed to make it easier to coordinate with venues, especially restaurants, and avoid the necessity of manually counting responses in a crowded inbox, which can lead to rsvps being undercounted. This is particularly important as the SFCC has begun to have larger, more frequent events. The SFCC board is unpaid and the secretary is part time. We pass the savings on to you!

Q: I got a message saying my account has been locked. How do I unfreeze it?

The SFCC maintains relatively high security standards for its accounts, and repeated bad logins cause the account to freeze. To recover account access if this happens, just click on the “forgot password” link and the system will unlock your account, send you a new password and you are good to go. NOTE: If you believe someone is trying to compromise your account, contact tech support: webdonkey [at] shanghaifcc.org

Q: Can I pay for events online?

Not yet, but you can arrange to pay our secretary using mobile payment.
